JISALMER THE REAL OASIS!!

with the beautiful historical structures, traditional atmosphere, sand at all around of roads, pretty roads, pollution-free nature, and gorgeous desert skyline Jaisalmer is the best city where you can spend 5 to 6 days. As I have been there the thing which I loved to do is, to wake up early and watch the empty roads and beautiful sunrise.

:where to stay in Jaisalmer:

There is two way to stay in Jaisalmer .first, you can take the hotel room inside the proper Jaisalmer fort and the second one is, there are many camps on the 'Jaisalmer-sam-dhanana road' .you can reach there by 30-40 min of road drive. I recommend staying in the camp because they arrange the cultural program, traditional folk dance, and music party as well at night.

oh!! did I mention there was a setup of bonfire for the cold environment! different-different camps have their different-different packages.

: THINGS TO DO IN JAISALMER:

(NOTE: I would suggest you take a vehicle on rent to visit the places properly without any interruption.)

#1 Jaisalmer fort

Jaisalmer Fort is More popularly known as the Golden Fort or Sonar Quila, this yellow sandstone regal structure was raised by Rajput ruler Raja Jaisal in 1156.

The Jaisalmer Fort offers stunning views of the Golden City. As most of the houses & buildings are made of yellow sandstone, this monochromatic effect creates magic and charisma.

Some of the most interesting things to see in Jaisalmer Fort include Maharawal in Chauhata Square, Tazia tower, Raj Mahal, Jain Temple, Laxmikanth Temple, and Jawahar Palace – the former residence of the royal family.
GANESH POL

you should also see the splendid carvings and the beautiful design of the four entrance gates of the Jaisalmer Fort – Ganesh Pol, Rang Pol, Bhoota Pol, and Hava Pol. The narrow bustling lanes lined with classic looking houses, archways, balconies, and ornate windows are outstanding.

#2 tanot Mata temple

The place is one of the best places to explore in the Thar Desert in Rajasthan. This temple was shown in the film Border. The best time to visit is November - January when the temperature is not likely to be extremely high. Taxis can be hired from Jaisalmer with a fare, not more than Rs.2000. There is no mobile network coverage after the village of Ramgarh on the route to Tanot except for BSNL. Public telephone booths are also not available.

The village is close to the border with Pakistan and is very close to the battle site of longewala of the India-Pakistan war 1970, indeed some credit the temple for the outcome of the battle.

Tourists cannot go beyond this temple to see the Indo–Pak Border unless one gets the relevant documentation in advance from the District and Military Authorities. It is now a tourist destination in India.

#3 longewala war memorial

It is the famous spot where the battle of Longewala was fought between India and Pakistan in 1971. Longewala memorial has been constructed right at the spot of the war. This museum is maintained and handled by the Indian Army. Some of the battle tanks, weapons from the war, jeeps and other items used in the war then are displayed here in the memorial. Also, a video exhibiting the war is shown. Located just 12 km from Pakistan, this is the only place up to where the civilians are allowed. Besides all this, the place is very difficult to survive in. High temperature, no food, and water, it is very hard to live here, but despite all these, the Army has managed to maintain a good condition here.

Longewala memorial fills you with emotions and love for your nation. This place personifies the audacity of Indian soldiers.

#4 sunset point
there are many places to see glorious sunset in or near Jaisalmer.a place which I suggest is, in the middle of sam desert because it is amazing to see the gorgeous sun going to dive inside the sea of sand. meanwhile, it was a perfect time for camel safari and get some awesome pictures with orange sun and sky as well.

#5 desert safari on four-wheel

The Evening Desert Safari is a must-do for any adventure seekers visiting Jaisalmer. Convenient round trip transportation will pick you up from where you want in a 4 wheel drive and take you out to explore the thar desert. They will costs around 1000-1900₹ as per your track. Test your balancing skills in an exhilarating sandboarding experience. Take time to look around and take pictures, this tour is a great opportunity to capture breathtaking views of the desert during sunset.

#6 camel safari of sam dessert

Jaisalmer!!..the first thing that came in my mind after hearing the word Jaisalmer is " a camel safari ...trekking on dunes by riding a camel". I think this is what the Jaisalmer is famous for. riding a camel gives a mixed experience like fear of falling dawn by each step that camel takes and joy of walking on dune without touching the ground and the best part of the safari is doing a belly exercise with zero effort.

the perfect time for a camel safari is before sunrise or sunset to take a pretty picture with sun and camel as well. finding a camel guardian is an easy job because they are everywhere in Jaisalmer and they will cost you around 200-900₹ as per your track.

#7 adventurous activity

For those of you who are looking for some thrilling activities, then Jaisalmer is just perfect for you because you will find activities like parasailing and riding a sand scooter(quad bike) over there.

places to do this kind of activities is, anywhere on Jaisalmer-sam-dhanana road.it costs around 800-1000₹ per 3-5 minutes of parasailing and quadding will cost you as per your selected track.
